Plumbing repair, done right the first time

Leaks, drips, running toilets, failing valves and pressure problems, diagnosed properly and fixed with parts that last.

Most plumbing calls start small. A faucet that will not stop dripping, a toilet that runs at night, a water bill that crept up for no reason. Small is exactly the time to fix it, because water always wins eventually, and the repair is cheapest before drywall and flooring get involved.

We diagnose before we price. That means finding the actual cause, not quoting a part swap from the driveway and hoping. When the honest answer is a repair, we repair. When a fixture or line is at the end of its life and a repair would just be renting time, we tell you that too, with the numbers for both paths in writing.

Much of the housing stock in Homewood, Vestavia Hills and Mountain Brook carries original galvanized or copper from decades past. We know what those systems fail like, and we carry what it takes to fix them without three trips.

What we handle

  • Leak location and repair, supply and drain
  • Faucets, toilets, disposals and fixture replacement
  • Shut-off valves, pressure regulators and hose bibs
  • Low or high water pressure diagnosis
  • Whole-home repipe evaluations for aging galvanized lines
  • Pre-sale and inspection-report repairs

Signs it is time to call

  • A water bill that rose without a change in habits
  • Water stains on ceilings or cabinet floors
  • Banging or humming pipes when fixtures run
  • A water heater or fixture that is simply old and tired
  • The sound of running water when everything is off

Common questions

Asked and answered

Do you charge to come look at it?

We charge a diagnostic fee, and it is applied to the repair if you move forward with us. What you get for it is an actual diagnosis: we test, isolate the failure and put a written price in your hand before any work begins. Alabama does not require plumbers to price this way, but we think a homeowner deciding on a repair deserves a real number, not a range from a doorway.

Repair or replace, how do you decide?

Age, part availability and the failure pattern. A 15 year old valve that failed once is a repair. A polybutylene supply line or a 1960s galvanized system that has failed twice is telling you something, and patching it buys months, not years. We show you both prices and the reasoning, and the call is yours.

How fast can you get to me?

Same day for active leaks in most of our service area. We are based in Bessemer and run all of Jefferson County, including Homewood, Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook and Hoover, and into Shelby and St. Clair Counties. Tell us what the system is doing when you call and we will give you an honest window, not a hopeful one.

What kind of pipe do you install for repipes?

PEX for most whole home repipes, copper where the situation calls for it. PEX handles the slab foundations and tight crawl spaces common in older Homewood and Bessemer housing stock without the joint count that makes old copper and galvanized systems fail. Every repipe is pressure tested before we close a single wall.

Is low water pressure something you can actually fix?

Usually, once we find which of the three causes it is: a failing pressure reducing valve, mineral-choked galvanized supply lines, or a leak. Residential pressure should sit roughly between 40 and 80 psi. We measure it at the hose bib, isolate the cause and price the fix in writing. If it is the utility's problem on their side of the meter, we tell you that for free.
