Most companies stop at the foundation wall. We handle the supply side, the waste side and the septic system as one connected thing, with the care an established home deserves and the documentation to prove the work.

  • Diagnosed before it is priced, every time
  • Prices given before work starts
  • Photographs of what we found and what we did, on request

Honest service runs deep

Serving since 2024, built on an old standard.

A slow drain inside the house and a wet spot over the drain field are usually the same story told twice. When a plumbing company can only work indoors, you get a partial answer and a second bill from somebody else.

How we work

No surprises, start to finish

Four steps, in this order, every job. The order matters, because pricing before diagnosis is how people end up paying for the wrong repair.

  1. Call and schedule

Tell us what the system is doing. We give you a real arrival window and confirm it the morning of.

  2. Diagnose on site

Camera, locate, test. We find the actual cause instead of quoting off a guess from the driveway.

  3. Upfront pricing

You see the options and the numbers in writing, including the do nothing option when that is honest.

  4. Fix and document

Work completed, site restored, photos and paperwork sent so you have a record for the next owner or inspector.

They came in on an emergency job. Put a camera in the wall and found the pipe without tearing out the new wall! They were absolutely amazing. He brought four people and was finished by 2 pm. Perfection, and it was clean. I can't say enough about this company.

A note from the owner

We started Water Oak Plumbing & Septic with a simple belief — your word should still mean something.

There was a time when a handshake was enough. You did what you said you were going to do, you treated people fairly, and you stood behind your work. We believe there’s still a place for doing business that way.

When you invite us onto your property, we don’t take that lightly. Whether we’re there for a plumbing repair, servicing a septic system, or installing a new one, you can expect honesty, clear communication, respect for your property, and work we’re proud to stand behind.

Like the roots of a water oak, our commitment runs deep. We want to earn your trust, not just your business, and build relationships that last for years to come.

Questions we get

Septic and plumbing answers, straight

How often does a septic tank need service?

Most households in Jefferson County need septic tank service every three to five years. Tank size, number of people in the home, garbage disposal use and laundry volume all move that number. We check sludge and scum depth on every visit and tell you the honest interval for your system instead of putting you on an arbitrary schedule.

What are the first signs of a failing septic system?

Slow drains throughout the house, gurgling toilets, sewage odor near the tank or field lines, and grass that is greener or spongier over the drain field. Standing water over the field is a late sign. Call as soon as you notice any of these, because early drain field repair costs a fraction of a full replacement.

Do you take same day plumbing calls in Bessemer?

We keep honest room in the schedule for active problems like leaks and backups, and being based in Bessemer means short drive times across Jefferson County. We are a small crew that schedules straight rather than overbooking. Call and you will get a real answer on timing, not a promise built to win the phone call. Call (205) 767-1796 and you will reach a person, not a call center.

How much does a new septic system cost in Alabama?

Cost depends on soil percolation results, system type, tank size and site access. A conventional gravity system for a three bedroom home is the low end, and engineered or drip systems on poor soil run higher. We handle the soil evaluation and county health department permitting, then give you a written fixed price before any dirt moves.

Can you repair a water line without digging up my whole yard?

Often, yes. We locate the leak first, then use trenchless pulling where the run and soil allow, which limits digging to a small pit at each end. If a full open trench is the right call for your property, we tell you that up front and restore the ground when the work is finished.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Water Oak Plumbing & Septic is a licensed Alabama plumbing contractor and carries full liability insurance and workers compensation coverage. We can send a certificate of insurance before we start.
